  • I'm coming or I just arrived to Denver with my family/alone. Can I stay at Casa?

    Unfortunately, we are not a shelter or a housing facility and we cannot accommodate families or individuals for a long or short period of time. For shelters or housing options in Denver please visit UndocuHub or JustServe Denver.

  • Are you a shelter?

    Casa de Paz is NOT a shelter. We do not assist people that are not released from the detention center in Aurora.

  • I'm visiting a person at the detention center in Aurora. Can I stay at Casa?

    Since before the pandemic, families have not been able to stay at Casa de Paz. At this time, Casa de Paz has switched from a hospitality model to an accompaniment model with people. We do not have the capacity to assist people in an overnight manner.

  • How long can a guest stay at Casa de Paz?

    Casa de Paz at this time cannot accommodate people over night. We understand that this may be different, but over the last two years we have had to adjust overnight stays to accommodate people being released every day.

  • Can you pay for my airfare back to my home country?

    At this time, we do not have the monetary resources to assist with airfare in any capacity.

  • I need a lawyer. Can Casa help me or help me find one?

    Our mission focuses on providing a temporary, safe landing for folx being released from the immigrant detention center in Aurora. We do NOT have lawyers on staff. We advise that you visit our Resources page.

  • I need a sponsor. Can Casa sponsor me or help me find one?

    Unfortunately, we do not assist with that process. Please refer to Immigrant Freedom Fund or/and with the Freedom For Immigrants and fill out their Support Request Form.

  • My family member is detained in an immigration facility (ICE), but I don’t know where. How can I find out where they are being detained?

    You can locate a family member who is detained in an ICE facility using their full name and country of birth by using the Online Locator System.

  • My family member is detained in an immigration facility (ICE), but I don’t know when their next court date is. How can I find out when their next court date will be?

    You can locate a family member’s next court date by entering their “A number”.

  • I have a client who needs accompaniment to their USCIS appointment, court, etc. Can you help?

    While Casa has helped in the past, at this time we don’t have enough volunteers who are taking on these roles and due to the high numbers of people being released every day, we cannot do that at this time.

  • A family member/friend is going to be released from the immigration detention center in Aurora. Can Casa pick them up?

    Yes! Casa is outside of the immigration detention center in Aurora, Monday through Friday, excluding holidays waiting for folks to be released. We offer everyone a ride to Casa. They will have wifi and we have phones for them to use so they can contact you to let them know they’ve been released.

  • I want to donate clothing, supplies and/or food for Casa de Paz. Can I just drop off these donations without prior notice?

  • How do I volunteer?

    Click here to complete our Volunteer Online Training. If you’d prefer to attend an In-Person Volunteer Training, these are held every other month at Casa de Paz, so please make sure you sign up for our newsletter here for current dates!

  • Build A Backpack!

    Every person that is released gets a backpack from Casa de Paz. If you want to donate for this cause, please click here. Additionally, if you want to donate a complete backpack for a guest, please visit our Donations Accepted document for a list of items that we put in each backpack.

  • I want to volunteer with Casa, but I do not live near Aurora, Colorado. Are there other ways I can volunteer?

    Yes! You may sign up for our Bring a Pizza/Send a Pizza slot and you may donate a pizza for the day! You can also become part of our program, Cartas de Paz (Letters of Peace) where you can become a Peace Pal (pen pal) to one of our detained friends.
