Acts of kindness.
Today we received a letter from a friend in detention. She's called to request visits and a peace-pal. Our commissary support team sent her $15 earlier this month. She is currently seating in detention with no real idea of when she will be released. In her letter she is thinking about meeting us and the ways in which she will "repay" all of us at Casa de Paz so that "the work can continue for so many people still detained".
We could not help to stop and think about the importance of kindness. The importance that connection has on all of us and the impact that it holds for folks in detention.
